Job Description and Duties: 

Title: Kennel Concierge 

Pay: $12.00 per hour 

Hours: 36 hours weekly 

The kennel concierge will be our front-line workforce for kennel activities. Key responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to: 

● Kennel: 

○ Monitor overall health of dogs in residence 

○ Watch for signs of illness and report to Assistant Manager or Manager 

○ Turn out dogs 

○ Supervise dogs in yards 

○ Clean kennels, yards, cat condos 

○ Ensure all animals have water 

○ Feed and administer medication to animals 

○ Assist with baths, nail trims, paw pad trims 

○ Apply appropriate diarrhea or illness protocols 

○ Bring any soiled bedding or towels to laundry and track owners 

● Front desk backup: 

○ Answer phones 

○ Respond to emails 

○ Schedule pets for daycares and overnight boarding. 

○ Offer baths/nails/paw pad maintenance to all boarding customers 

○ Maintain neat and tidy work space at front desk and kitchen 

○ Assist with laundry 

● Assist with bowl washing and keeping things generally tidy and organized 

● Other duties as assigned Qualified candidates must have prior experience with customer service and kennel work. Experience in management is a plus. 

Additionally, candidates should: 

● Be detail oriented 

● Have the ability to work independently and in a team environment 

● Be flexible as priorities shift 

● Be comfortable working on multiple tasks efficiently

Effort and Working Conditions: Substantial time on your feet is expected; moving dogs and taking them outside and cleaning the kennel will be the majority of the day. Lifting of up to 50 pounds and frequent dog handling is required.  

Hours: This is a full time position with 12-hour shift. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary week-to-week. Anticipated schedule is 34-40 hours, hours will vary but should not regularly extend beyond 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Participation in the on-call pool is required. 

Pay Scale: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. This is an hourly position, with overtime pay allowable. Employee will receive 1.5 times pay for any hours worked if called in during their on-call rotation. Minimum 4 hours guaranteed for on-call requirements. 

Growth Trajectory: Successful kennel concierge employees may reasonably expect to be considered for the future Assistant Manager role, if available. Compensation and responsibilities will be increased appropriately. 

Benefits: Employee dogs stay for $5.00 per day or night, assuming availability. Maximum employee kennels at any given time is two. Peak holidays and busy periods may be unavailable for employee use. Employees may bring their own pets during their shifts for free daycare, assuming we have at least 2 open kennels for same-day paid client use.
