Project Chimps is a sanctuary for chimpanzees retired from research labs. All 90+ chimps grew up and lived in a research lab environment but are now living in sanctuary, calling the Blue Ridge Mountains home. The sanctuary property also owns and maintains multiple hiking trails of varying difficulty.
