The mission of Gilmer Arts is to promote passionate interest and active participation in all forms of the arts and to preserve and display the Heritage of Gilmer County and the North Georgia Mountains. We will provide educational opportunities scholarships and sensational events in the visual, literary and performing arts for the people of Gilmer County and the surrounding area. Gilmer Arts is proud to host the annual Plein Air, Art in the Mountains where Regional artists create art based on the stunning views and vistas of the beautiful north Georgia mountains. The B.E.S.T. Series (Bringing Ellijay Sensational Talent) , founded in 1992, committed to bringing sensational, award winning live concerts to our community. Acoustic Blends free events open to the public, and open to all Musicians who want to play on stage. Gilmer Arts Community Theatre is a vibrant local showcase for regional talent in the theatre arts. Community Chorus delivers two wonderful concerts each year in late Fall and Spring. Write On! is a reinvigorated writing group, which meets once a month, members meet to share drafts and manuscripts, discuss writing approaches and talk through writers block, among other things; no requirement to sign up. Expand your talents and explore new fields with the wide array of classes offered by Gilmer Arts. We have individual and class lessons in drama, piano, guitar, flute, voice and dulcimer. Or if you re simply interested in relaxing your mind and body, try one of our ongoing yoga or dance classes. Visit us no entrance fee.
