Job Description
GENERAL: The Amenities Department is responsible for creating an enjoyable recreational environment as an added benefit of ownership in the resort. The purpose of this position is to provide quality customer service and to maintain a clean and safe environment for property owners and guests at the Recreation Center, Riverside Pool and Foxhound Pool. 
DEFINITION:  Under the general supervision of the Amenities Supervisor, the Cashier/Pool Attendant is responsible for greeting property owners and guests; verifying customer authorization to use the facility; selling merchandise, beverages and food items; cleaning the recreational facility.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:  The Cashier/Pool Attendant shall work at any of the following locations:  Recreation Center, Riverside Pool, or Foxhound Pool.  Work location may vary at the discretion of the supervisor.  Employee shall be required to work outside in all types of weather.  Employee may operate pickup trucks on CRRA property, vacuum cleaners, carpet steam cleaners and the pool blaster.
WORK HOURS/WORK WEEK: This description applies to full-time and part-time employees.  The workweek does not exceed 40 hours per week for full-time and 28 hours for part-time employees.  Shift schedules may vary dependent on weather condition.  The work schedules may be adjusted as required at the discretion of the supervisor to include work on holidays and/or weekends in lieu of normally scheduled workdays.
RECREATION FACILITY OPERATING HOURS:  The Recreation Center is open year-round:   Pool Hours: 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Gym hours 6:00AM to 8:30PM.  During the summer season, the Riverside Pool is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Foxhound Pool is open 11:00AM to 7:00 PM.  Hours of operation may be changed from time to time and for special circumstances.
The Cashier/Pool Attendant greets property owners and guests and checks property owner ID cards and guest passes to verify authorization to use the facility.  Employee ensures all property owners and guests sign in.  The employee responds to questions from property owners and guests concerning recreation facility rules and regulations; sale of merchandise; and hours of operation.  Problems with property owners and/or guests are documented and reported immediately to the Amenities Supervisor or the Amenities Director. 
Employee shall inspect the recreation facility daily at the start of his/her shift to ensure there are no safety issues and that all areas of the facility are clean and ready for use by property owners and guests. 

Daily, the employee cleans recreation facility as follows:
  •  Recreation Center:  Employee mops floors in the restrooms, kitchen, lobby and game room; vacuums weight room and sterilizes weight equipment; cleans food preparation area popcorn machine, microwave and refrigerator; wipes down chairs and lounges; Check and clean skimmers as needed; Restrooms are cleaned at the start of each shift and as needed. Complete other duties outlined in the AM and PM schedule located at the Rec. Center. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Amenities Supervisor. 
  •  Riverside Pool:  Employee mops floors in the lobby, kitchen and game room. Restrooms are cleaned during each shift and as needed throughout the day. Clean counters in kitchen area. Sweep pool areas and wipe down chairs and lounges. Check and clean skimmers as needed. Empty garbage and replace bags. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Amenities Supervisor. 
  • Foxhound Pool:  Employee sweeps pool areas and wipes down chairs and lounges. Check and clean skimmers as needed. Clean bathrooms. Keep Pavilion area clean. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Amenities Supervisor.
 Trash or debris in the facility and around pool areas is picked up and disposed of in the proper container as needed during employee’s shift.  Items left in the pool are removed.  Personal items left by property owners and/or guests are secured.  Employee notifies supervisor or Amenities Director immediately when valuable items are found.
Employee maintains stock of ice cream and janitorial supplies.  Employee maintains an accurate inventory and informs supervisor when stock needs to be replenished.
Employee maintains an accurate record of items sold and money collected.  Employee is responsible for ensuring the money is kept in a safe and secure location. 
Employee ensures the recreation facility is locked and secure prior to departure.
Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Employee should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  Prior experience in merchandise/food sales and/or in a recreational facility is desired.  Or, a combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. Some computer skills required.
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance.?  
  • Basic knowledge of CRRA rules and regulations pertaining to recreational facilities.
  • Ability to recognize currency and effectively make correct change.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and supplies, vacuum cleaner, steam carpet cleaner and the pool blaster.
  • Ability to converse clearly and effectively with property owners, guests and other CRRA employees.
  • Skill in selling merchandise, collecting money and making correct change.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, be accepted by the CRRA’s vehicular insurance company to drive CRRA vehicles.  Must pass a criminal records background examination as well as submit to and pass a drug test. Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.  This position is non-contractual, and at will.
