Meet The Authors

On May 8th meet three successful authors at the George Link, Jr Gilmer Arts Playhouse.
Chris Negron is the author of “Dan Unmasked,” his debut novel released in July, 2020, and “The Last Super Chef,” coming July 2021. Both contemporary middle grade novels are published by HarperCollins. KitLitExchange.com said “Dan Unmasked ‘broke my heart’ and needs to be on every library shelf.” Chris grew up outside Buffalo, New York and attended Yale University. He and his family now reside in Atlanta.
Jeff Shaw is the author of “Who I Am: The Man Behind the Badge,” a memoir published in April 2020. Jeff grew up in south Florida where he served in law enforcement as a Hialeah police officer for 24 years before retiring and moving to Ellijay with his family. His book began as a collection of stories meant for his children, but soon evolved into an intense, in-depth memoir of the struggles of his profession.
Rona Simmons is an Atlanta-area author of historical fiction and non-fiction. After co-authoring “Images from World War II” in 2016, celebrating the art of WWII veteran and artist Jack Smith, she again turned to the Second World War for “The Other Veterans of World War II: Stories from Behind the Front Lines,” released by Kent University in 2020. Her next book, a work in progress, again combines her passion for history and her skill in research.
