Instructor: Melissa Searcy Ages: 10 and up Pricing: $35 (Members get a 10% discount) Supply Fee: $18 2 Sessions June 19-21 and July 24-26 July session will feature the same classes but have different projects Morning Art Camp 3-days, 3-hours a day Day 1 – Nature Weaving Day 2 – Bookmark Madness Day 3 – Plastic Bottle Gems – Trash to Treasure Nature Weaving – In this class, students will talk about nature and then put natural elements together by weaving then into a masterpiece! The Art of Nature combines with the artist’s hands and imagination for three hours of fun filled weaving. Everyone will be hands of fun and creative craftiness. Feel free to bring your favorite natural elements to be included in your artwork such as flowers, ribbons, rocks or driftwood. Bookmark Madness – We will make many bookmarks from many different types of ingredients. We will talk about why bookmarks are fun and important even in this digital age. We will explore ingredients and processing different ideas and collaborate designs. You will walk away with a variety of bookmarks to keep or to give as gifts. There will be many examples so you’re able to get inspiration for your own designs. Plastic Bottle Gems – We are going to “bling” it on! Creating a bunch of jewels from plastics bottles. You will be amazed at how fun recycling will be after you see what we bring out of these old plastic bottles. We will also make some rolled beads out of the sides too – as a bonus@! You can use your gem collection to bedazzle to your hearts content. Bring 4 or 5 clear plastic bottles. Feel free to bring your favorite nail polish.
