Instructor: Melissa Searcy Ages: 12 and up Pricing: $35 (Members get a 10% discount) Supply Fee: $20 2 Sessions June 19-21 and July 24-26 July session will feature the same classes but have different projects Afternoon Art Camp 3-days, 3-hours a day Afternoon Art Camp Day 1 – Jean Jam Day 2 – Paper Beads Day 3 – Can Do Jean Jam – In this class the students will cut up old jeans to create beautiful fabric flowers and embellishments for pendants and bracelets and broches. Recycling old jeans has never been so much fun! Make and Take! Keep or give your creations as a great gift. Feel free to bring your old jeans to recycle Paper Beads – Paper beads have been an art form dating back years and years. We will show the basics of form and function and have examples of all kinds of ways to incorporate paper into beadmaking. You will take away as assortment of finished paper beads. Bring any favorite papers you have at home that you to incorporate into beads. Can Do – creating jewelry out of soda cans. This class will show you how to upcycle old cans into amazing adornments. We CAN DO! Amaze your friends and get compliments from strangers when they realize what your wearing is made from old drink cans everyone else throws away! Art is truly in the eye of the beholder. Your imagination is the only obstacle. Bring safety glasses and thick garden gloves, or pay an extra $10 for us to provide them for you.
