The Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc., First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia, and First Families Book Committee are proud to release the long-awaited book “Faces of Our Ancestors” on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Gilmer County Library at 268 Calvin Jackson Drive; Ellijay, Georgia 30540. “Faces of Our Ancestors“ is a legacy to those earliest families of Gilmer County who built a life in the mountains we call home and the descendants who passed along their stories.

This work is over 800 pages of historical information and folklore, with well-researched documentation as well as stories and poetry from First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia. It is printed with the highest quality materials, is fully indexed, and its copyright is registered with the International Society of Book Number (ISBN) Agency. The Library of Congress has assigned a publication catalog number and requested a copy of this tome..

The First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia is a program created by members of the Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. in order to honor those who were settled in Gilmer County in 1840 or before, and to recognize their direct descendants.

Save the date and come celebrate with The Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. as “Faces of Our Ancestors” is revealed. Books will be available for purchase.
